Director, Dietetics Practice-Based Research Network, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
Elizabeth Yakes Jimenez is the Director of the Dietetics Practice-Based Research Network for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a Research Associate Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. She is a pediatric registered dietitian with a master’s degree in public health nutrition from Case Western Reserve University and a PhD in epidemiology from the University of California, Davis. Her research focuses on the prevention of micronutrient deficiencies and on the prevention and improved treatment of obesity and diabetes in underserved populations, with a particular focus on maternal, child and adolescent populations. She has expertise in the design and implementation of community-based research and evaluation studies.
