Whitney Fung is currently a third year doctoral student at the University of South Florida in the College of Public Health. Ms. Fung is a graduate of the University of Florida and earned her Bachelor’s in Food Science and Human Nutrition and Master’s in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences, with a concentration in Nonprofit Organizational Leadership. She has experience working for the University of Florida/IFAS Extension as the Florida 4-H Health Rocks! Program Coordinator and the Family and Consumer Sciences Agent in Polk County. Her research interests are in sustainable food systems, poverty, nutrition, and chronic disease prevention. She is a community advocate and hopes to be able to contribute to the food security work in Tampa Bay.
