Community Planner Manager at the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County

Yaridis L. Garcia is the Community Planner Manager at the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County. Community Planning Unit (CPU) has the primary responsibility for community engagement, planning, advocacy, and strategic mission-driven projects that lead to positive changes for Pinellas County children and families. Another primary functions are the recruitment, mobilization and engagement of community networks of formal and informal service providers, as well as community residents for strategic action. Ms. Garcia also provides technical assistance in the areas of community planning, organizational capacity building, formation of strategic partnerships and community alliances, and the use of performance data to measure service quality and effectiveness. She is the liaison to the JWB’s Mid-County Community Council, Hispanic Leadership Committee, FOCUS (Family Oriented Concept Unified to Serve) faith-based organizations, and the Abuse Neglect and Dependency Committee.

Ms. Garcia completed a Nonprofit Management & Leadership Certificate from the University of Tampa (2010), as well as the Eckerd College Leadership Institute (2013). She is also a member of the American Translators Association (ATA). Ms. Garcia is pursuing a MBA at the University of Tampa. She is also a Board Member at the Healthy Start Coalition, Pinellas County, and member of the Hispanic Professional Women’s Association.
